South West Rep report for Vintage Stomp Event – Sunday 3rd May 2009
Event – Vintage Stomp 2009
The event was held at Voyager Estate Winery Margaret River. Every major wine-producing region in the world celebrates its grape harvest with community celebrations, rituals, feasts and ceremonies.
Vintage Stomp is an opportunity for all the people who work in the Margaret River wine industry-from the growers to the vintners, the grape-pickers to the barrel- makers-to get together with their families and friends and celebrate another great year.
The day includes activities such as waiters races, pizza making competitions, celebrity wine distance spitting and stomp. With pony rides, rock walls, dancing and entertainment provided throughout the day.

Representing BCFWA and Purple Boots on the day were :
Maria, Alex and Isabel Bernhagen in attendance at the stand from 11.00am – 4.00pm
Isabel blew up balloons and handed them out to children on the day and at one stage had a line of children waiting to receive balloons

Fundraising Report
Boots sold – 9 pairs @ $30.00 pair donations plus additional $20 pair for BCFWA merchandise = $450.00
Merchandise Sold to the value of $109.45
$1,000 cheque donated to BCFWA from the winner of the Celebrity Stomp – (Chippy from Hot FM)
Total raised from the event $$1,559.45
Highlights of the day
Nigel Harvey (7 Gold Plate award winning - Executive Chef of Voyager Estate) wearing a Purple Bra while being dunked in the dunking machine.



Chippy from Hot FM Radio station winning the Celebrity Stomp and donating the $1,000 prize cheque to our stand on the day. (Celebrities need to crush grapes in a half barrel and in the winner is the person with the most juice at the end of the stomping.)
All in all a great day!!
