South West Rep report for Yallingup Maze Event – Sunday 10th May 2009

Event – Amaze Your Mother – at the Yallingup Maze – Mother’s Day Event
The event was held at Yallingup Maze, Caves Road Margaret River . Mother’s were free all day and 100’s of people enjoyed wonderful weather, music by local DJ Marcus and a jam session by local muso’s.n


Reps in attendance
Representing BCFWA and Purple Boots on the day were :
Maria & Alex Bernhagen in attendance at the stand from 9.00am – 4.00pm
Fundraising Report
Boots sold – 4 pairs @ $50.00 pair donations = $200.00
Merchandise Sold & donations to the value of $188.40 (exact split to follow)
+ part proceeds from the days entrance fees and wine sales – not available at time of publication
Total raised from the event $388.40 + extra t.b.a.
Highlights of the day
Amanda (proprietor of the Yallingup Maze and Cafe – as pictured below) wearing a purple bra all day over her t-shirt behind the counter of the cafe.

Selling a pair of Purple Boots to Bob Teasdale (Bob owns the land the maze is built on and also built the Maze with Ian (Amanda’s partner) Bob could be seen clutching his boots the next ½ hour or so everywhere he went!

Staying at Chandeliers on Abbey the night before the event, Jody and Glenn Parry are amazing hosts and the chalets were amazing!


And spending the day with Amanda and Jody (pictured below) – these two ladies are both totally amazing and inspirational!! Thanks so much for a fantastic day!!

Feedback from the day
We heard many stories of breast cancer survival during the day, the amazing thing was that all of the stories were of early detection and great results, which was fantastic!!
