Purple Boots On Show

"YWCA of Darwin call for a purple boot Encore"

The YWCA of Darwin is always showing off their purple boots any chance they can get! It’s great to have them on board and to know their local breast cancer support programs are also benefiting from relationships with local distributors.

"It is a pleasure for us to be involved in this wonderful campaign initiated by the Breast Cancer Foundation of WA and Steel Blue.  We have forged links with local businesses too, and Geminex – Totally Workwear contribute $10 to our Encore Program for each pair of Purple Boots ordered through the YWCA of Darwin.

We just love these boots and the message they bring!”" (Sue Brownlee, Executive Director, YWCA of Darwin)

The Engineers Australia Young Engineers’ and Women in Engineering’s Generation and Gender Exchange (Gen2X) event aims to do three things:

  1. transfer past experiences and future ideas between generations and genders within the Engineering profession;

Purple Boot Brigade recruits regional WA to give breast cancer the boot!

Ros Worthington OAM (BCFWA), returned to her home town in July to launch the Purple Boot Brigade and continue BCFWA’s work on developing regional support networks for individuals and families affected by breast cancer.

Geraldton is leading the WA rural community with local safety distributors and major employers supporting this great cause. Iluka Resources staff can now choose purple Steel Blues as part of their safety footwear issue sourced through Geraldton’s BOC Gas & Gear store.

“We have a great team spirit here at Iluka and support a range of community projects,” states Kam Leung, Operations Manager for Iluka Resources Mid-west Region. “The Purple Boot Brigade is a great way to have our staff get involved in a project that is already having an affect in the Geraldton community.”

SUN-RISEs on Purple Boots

Tuesday 27th March: Channel 7’s Sunrise sports reporter, Mark Baretta, is crazy about the purple boots following his interview last Friday with Brad Jones (Team BOC) as part of the Bigpond 400 V8 Supercar racing last weekend. And whilst the boots are in hot demand and selling out as fast as they can be produced, Baretts managed to sneak a pair over the border to present David Koch with his own special pair of Purple Boots live on Sunrise this morning. We hope to get pictures of Kochie in his boots soon!
