This position is funded by the Australian Research Council (ARC) with additional project funding from Steel Blue's donations to the Purple Boot Brigade and in-kind support from Edith Cowan University (ECU) and the Breast Cancer Foundation of Western Australia (Inc.) The project is based in Perth, Western Australia.

Researching online community and breast cancer support
Interested and suitably qualified applicants are encouraged to apply for a PhD scholarship which has an annual stipend of $27,222 for 3 years. The candidate will be involved in a prestigious Australian Research Council (ARC) Linkage Grant which will investigate online community and breast cancer support.

Ideally, applicants who hold either a 1st/upper 2nd class Honour's degree or Research Master's degree are encouraged to apply. However, applicants who do not hold these qualifications and who can demonstrate research or professional competency should also apply.
While the research is multi-disciplinary, applicants who have a keen interest in social science, multimedia, health and wellbeing, or online communication will be most suited. Web-design skills are not required, although applicants will need good computer skills and a willingness to work in an online capacity.
