Rottnest Channel Swim - Solo and Team

Purple Bra Clad swimmers will take on the 2010 WAtoday Rottnest Channel Swim on 20th February 2010 to raise much needed funds for West Australians touched by breast cancer.

The 19.7km race departs from Cottesloe Beach and finishes at Thomson Bay, Rottnest Island. It is anticipated that there will be over 2000 swimmers plus support crews and spectators involved with the event.

Participants can choose to swim for a nominated charity - a big thanks to Nazli Gwynn who is taking on the Rottnest Channel Swim solo and also to the 4 person team, the "Breast Strokers" , led by John Philp who are joining forces to take part in the swim, all to fundraise for BCFWA!

Nazli's story: Nazli Gwynn is attempting the solo swim, as she has had friends affected by breast cancer, and really wants to swim for a good cause. Her support crew and paddler will each be wearing a purple bra which will help them stand out from the crowd and encourage Nazli along.

Nazli is hoping to raise as much money as she can - $1 per stroke would be fantastic! She will certainly be doing a lot of strokes in the 19.7km swim.
